ARCHITECTURAL SERIES
BR 100 Designing With Brick Veneer Brick / Qualifies for HSW
Course will examine the production process involved in producing brick, and review product types, building codes and successful detailing techniques.
BR 200 Structural Clay Masonry / Qualifies for HSW
Course will cover use of structural clay masonry, a review of the manufacturing process, masonry's physical properties, and design detailing to achieve properly functioning exterior wall envelopes.
BR 300 Brick Production Facility Tour / Qualifies for HSW
Observe the manufacturing process required to make brick. Session will provide insights that will help when creating designs for your next brick project.
CMD 400 Overview of Concrete Masonry Design & Construction / Qualifies for HSW
Course covers how concrete block is manufactured, the difference between mortar and grout, and how to achieve watertight walls. A review of recent Northwest projects is included.
HARDSCAPE COURSES
General Hardscapes
Course covers fundamental design and general installation guidelines of pavers, architectural slabs, and segmental retaining walls.
Interlocking Concrete Pavers
A technical discussion: learn the differences between permeable and non-permeable interlocking concrete pavers, and the importance of selecting the best paver based on the design of your project.
Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavers
Course overviews design, selection, and construction of permeable pavements. Also, covered are BMPs recommended by local governing agencies, maintenance practices, current research, and case studies.
Segmental Retaining Walls
Course discusses the proper design and engineering of retaining walls.
Architectural Slabs
An overview of the design and application of both on-grade and roof deck installation of architectural slabs.
