Mutual Materials, the largest manufacturer of masonry and hardscape products in the Pacific Northwest, has been honored by Seattle Business magazine as a top family-run business in Washington State with a 2015 Family Business Award.
The Family Business Awards by Seattle Business magazine honor the impact and legacy of Washington state’s top family-run companies. Only three companies are recognized in each category of small, medium or large size company. Mutual Materials was honored as a Silver winner in the category of large company and the award was accepted by Mutual Materials president Kendall Anderegg, who is a direct descendant of the company founder.
As a local family owned and operated company with fifth generation family leadership, Mutual Materials was founded in 1900 by Daniel Houlahan following the Great Seattle Fire of 1889. Mutual Materials brick literally rebuilt Seattle and can be seen in many historic buildings. Today, Mutual Materials products remain visible in our communities and are used to build hospitals, schools, stadiums, businesses, homes, park and private backyard living spaces.
Mutual Materials employs 440 people and operates 10 manufacturing facilities plus 16 retail branches throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia.
