This is the second session in the 2024 Code Mode Series presented by AIA Seattle’s Code Committee.
Join us for a two day seminar on understanding the Seattle Existing Building Code (SEBC). Day 1 delves into the code’s philosophy and explores requirements for building reuse and substantial alterations. Day 2 features case studies to illustrate practical applications and emphasizes key compliance areas such as substantial alterations, building performance, and changes of use within existing structures. Participants will gain insight into critical code compliance areas, including Seattle’s unique substantial alteration definitions and requirements for building reuse.
